The Pioneer TS-A1680F is a 6-1/2-inch 4-way coaxial speaker system engineered to deliver a seamless and expansive sound stage through Pioneer's OPEN & SMOOTH sound concept. The system utilizes a carbon and mica reinforced Injection Molded Polypropylene (IMPP) woofer cone, paired with a lightweight elastic polymer surround, to ensure high sensitivity and responsive audio reproduction. Dual 11mm polyethylene terephthalate (PET) hard dome tweeters and a 1-5/8-inch PEI film cone midrange driver work together to produce crisp vocals and high-frequency clarity. Built for durability and performance, these speakers feature a heat-resistant voice coil wire and a cooling basket with an integrated air vent to effectively manage high input power. The design incorporates a strontium ferrite magnet for improved bass precision. Each set includes multi-fit installation adapter plates, which can be modified by trimming or removing tabs to allow for a direct-fit replacement in many factory speaker locations. Technical specifications include a frequency response range of 36 Hz to 25 kHz, a 4-ohm nominal impedance, and a crossover frequency set at 3,600 Hz. These units are rated for 80 Watts of continuous RMS power handling, with a maximum peak power capacity of 350 Watts.
