TSP 220R Camshaft

The Texas Speed TSP 220R Camshaft is engineered for LS-based GM engines, including 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, and 6.2L displacements, covering model years from 1997-2013. With its 220/220 duration, .600/.600 lift, and 112 LSA, this camshaft is designed to be compatible with beehive and double valve springs. It offers excellent performance gains, estimated at 30-35+ HP, while maintaining great driveability and stock-like manners. Customers often choose the 220R for its ability to provide significant power increases while having a subtle idle lope that can be easily masked by exhaust systems in larger displacement engines (5.7L and up). For smaller displacement engines like the 4.8L and 5.3L, the idle will be more aggressive but still manageable for street use without drastically impacting fuel economy. The TSP 220R is optimized for an operating RPM range of 1500-6500 RPM and requires a minimum compression ratio of 9.5:1. While it can work with stock torque converters in 5.3L and larger applications, a higher stall converter is recommended to maximize its performance potential. Recommended valve springs are PAC 1219 or TSP/PAC Dual .660 Valve Springs. Installation of this camshaft requires custom tuning. Additionally, please note that DOD/AFM equipped engines will necessitate a DOD/AFM delete, and VVT engines will require a VVT delete kit. If your engine originally came with a 1-bolt camshaft, a 3-bolt conversion kit will be necessary. This product is not legal for sale or use in the state of California.
