TSP B.F.D. "Chop Monster" Camshaft 233/240 .629/.600 Lift

The Texas Speed TSP B.F.D. "Chop Monster" camshaft (part number 25-TSPBFD-60) is a performance upgrade engineered to produce a distinctively aggressive exhaust note and substantial power gains in naturally aspirated LS engines. Designed in collaboration with Zac Mertens of Hoonigan, this camshaft is built to deliver maximum "chop" and grunt, with its sound capable of registering on the Richter scale. It is suitable for 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, 6.2L, LS7, and big-inch stroker LS applications, particularly those utilizing cathedral port heads. Key specifications for this camshaft include a 233 degrees of intake duration and 240 degrees of exhaust duration at .050 lift, with valve lifts of .629 inches for intake and .600 inches for exhaust. It features a 108 LSA (Lobe Separation Angle) and a 106 ICL (Intake Centerline), contributing to its aggressive profile and sound. The operating RPM range is targeted between 2300 and 7000 RPM, with an estimated power increase of 65+ horsepower. To achieve optimal performance and drivability with the "Chop Monster" camshaft, specific supporting modifications and settings are recommended. A desired compression ratio of 10.5:1 or higher is advised. It requires the use of TSP Dual .660 Valve springs and an aftermarket stall converter rated for 3600+ RPM. Additionally, upgraded rear gears of at least 3.42 are recommended. While it can be daily driven with proper tuning and an appropriately sized torque converter for automatic transmissions, manuals will require more thorough tuning. It is generally best suited for weekend warrior applications on stock cubic inch engines, but can be daily driven with the right setup.
