The Texas Speed TSP LS3 Stage 2 Camshaft is a mid-duration performance camshaft engineered for LS3 and LS2 engine combinations that use L92/LS3 rectangle port cylinder heads. With a 229/244 duration profile and a 112 Lobe Separation Angle (LSA), this camshaft offers a significant power increase over milder options, targeting strong performance from 3,000 RPM and upwards. It is designed to be a step up from the TSP 225/236 camshaft for those seeking more aggressive power delivery in naturally aspirated, boosted, street-performance, or race-focused LS3-style engines. This camshaft boasts a valve lift of .629" on the intake side and .615" on the exhaust side, requiring a compatible higher-lift valvetrain package. Texas Speed offers an optional .660" dual spring kit, which includes PAC Racing springs, titanium retainers, hardened spring seats, valve stem seals, and 7.400" chromoly pushrods, to ensure proper valvetrain operation. The 3-bolt camshaft design is standard for many LS timing setups; however, if your engine originally featured a 1-bolt camshaft, conversion components will be necessary. For vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, a minimum 3,000 RPM stall speed torque converter is recommended to effectively utilize this camshaft's powerband and maintain streetability. Additionally, engines originally equipped with DOD/AFM will require a conversion to conventional lifters, and VVT engines will necessitate a VVT delete kit for proper installation and operation. Gasket kits including a crank bolt and necessary seals are also available.
