TTE535 Hybrid Turbocharger

The Turbo Engineers TTE535 Upgraded Turbocharger represents a significant performance enhancement for the VAG 2.0/1.8TSI EA888.3 MQB platform. This hybrid turbocharger is engineered by modifying the original IS38 unit, incorporating a larger, more efficient TTE Billet Milled compressor wheel with extended tip technology. The compressor cover is milled to an optimal gap, and the original IS38 turbine is replaced with a lightweight, high-flow 9-blade TTE turbine. This design modification aims to increase gas flow, reduce back pressure, lower exhaust gas temperatures, and allow for safer, higher boost levels. The TTE535 features a TTE CNC milled OEM silencer delete, which removes internal baffles and replaces them with a straight-through section, thereby eliminating restrictions and improving flow while enhancing exhaust sound. A TTE reinforced 360-degree thrust bearing is also integrated for increased durability. Installation is designed to be plug-and-play, compatible with the original IS38 turbocharger mounting points and connections. Every TTE turbocharger undergoes rigorous balancing. Initially, individual parts are balanced at speeds up to 2800 RPM, followed by dynamic balancing of the assembled CHRA up to 250,000 RPM using an in-house VSR machine. This process ensures a standard far exceeding OEM specifications, contributing to longevity and refined acoustics. Each unit is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test result document. This turbocharger is proven to deliver 535 PS+ at 2.0 bar boost pressure using 99RON fuel. It is based on the original IS38 IHI turbocharger and includes the original genuine actuator and diverter valve. Note that TTE does not recondition the electronic actuator or diverter valve when used for the upgrade process; your original components will be re-installed. It is recommended that a new diverter valve be fitted during installation.
