The The Turbo Engineers TTE800 is a performance upgrade turbocharger meticulously engineered for the 4.0 TFSI engine, offering increased power and improved response over stock units while maintaining durability for higher boost applications. To construct the TTE800, the original compressor is replaced with a larger, more efficient billet wheel featuring extended tip technology. The compressor cover is then milled to achieve an optimal gap, perfectly matching the new compressor profile. Additionally, a clipped and lightened genuine IHI turbine is installed. This clipping process, a special TTE grinding technique, reduces blade area to enhance gas flow, decrease back pressure, and lower exhaust gas temperatures. This enables safer, higher boost levels and also reduces rotational mass, improving the turbocharger's moment of inertia. Precision balancing is a critical factor in TTE turbochargers for longevity and performance. The TTE800 undergoes a multi-stage balancing process: parts are first balanced individually at slow speeds (up to 2800 RPM), then assembled components are balanced, and finally, the CHRA is dynamically balanced at speeds up to 250,000 RPM using an in-house VSR machine to achieve an exceptionally high standard of equilibrium, surpassing OEM specifications. Each turbocharger includes a serial-numbered balance test result document. This turbocharger upgrade is designed for the Audi S8 D4 (2012+), S7 C7 (2012+), S6 C7 (2012+), RS7 C7 (2012+), and RS6 C7 (2012+). The listing price is for upgrading a non-damaged existing turbocharger; damaged turbos may incur additional costs after inspection. Custom tuning software is required for installation.
