Tubular Front Cross Bar with Engine Mount

The Fabless Tubular Front Cross Bar is engineered as a direct replacement for the factory MK2 Golf/Jetta front cross member, offering superior strength, stiffness, and reduced weight. Constructed from durable DOM tubing and meticulously TIG welded, it features a robust black powder coat finish. The integrated front engine mount, supplied with a polyurethane bushing, effectively minimizes engine movement, ensuring that more power is transferred directly to the drivetrain. This cross bar maintains the stock engine positioning while providing a bolt-in solution compatible with numerous engine swaps, and it also accommodates larger radiators for enhanced cooling performance. The design incorporates slotted frame rail mounting holes for simplified installation, and washers are included to ensure proper fitment between the cross bar and the frame rails. The cross bar itself weighs 5.6kg, with the engine mount and bushing adding just under 1kg. Included with the cross bar are a jack point, the front engine mount with polyurethane bushing, mounting hardware for the chassis, and the black powder coat finish. Compatibility extends to MK2 VW Golf/Jetta models and VW Corrado (with a note that upper radiator tabs may need fabrication for Corrado fitment). It supports a wide range of engines, including various VR6, 1.8L, 2.0L, and VR5 variants. Note that for most 1.8T applications, additional starter bolt hardware is required. This component is designed to work with 8v/16v radiators and North American MK3 VR6 radiators. Removable lower radiator pins are provided for both types, and bolt-in upper radiator mounts are available for the MK2 rad support. Slim fans are recommended for VR6 engine installations.
