The Speedway Motors 9161978 is a tubular lower control arm kit. It is designed for 1982-92 3rd Gen Camaro and G-Body vehicles. This kit features a heavy-duty tubular design with a factory-style sway bar end link mount for a true bolt-on installation. The control arms are constructed from 1-1/2” OD DOM steel tubing with a .120” wall thickness, precision bent, jig located, and MIG welded for maximum strength.

The Speedway Motors 9161978 is a tubular lower control arm kit specifically engineered for 1982-92 3rd Gen Camaro and G-Body vehicles, offering a cost-effective upgrade over other brands. Constructed from heavy-duty, 1-1/2” OD DOM steel tubing with a .120” wall thickness, these control arms are precision bent, jig located, and MIG welded to ensure maximum strength and durability. The design incorporates a factory-style sway bar end link mount, facilitating a true bolt-on installation without requiring modifications. Key specifications include a mount center to ball joint center of 14.25 inches and the inclusion of a ball joint and bushings. The overall width is 14.325 inches and the overall length is 17.5 inches. These control arms come in a black finish. Customers have noted that while the product offers good value and appearance, there can be compatibility issues with certain springs, such as Eibach springs, due to configuration. Despite a past recall for unrelated welding issues, the revised design is appreciated for its practicality and improved usability over competitors.
