Turbo Blanket

The Forge Motorsport FMTUBL4 turbo thermal blanket is engineered to protect your engine by isolating the radiant heat generated by the turbocharger. Designed specifically for the Mini gen2 (R55 through R61) stock turbo charger, it also provides a compatible fit for the Peugeot 207/208 GTI. This turbo blanket addresses the limitations of the stock Mini heat shield, which can lead to warping of the bonnet's air scoop. Constructed to withstand harsh environments, it is proven to handle up to 2500°F of radiant heat, thereby safeguarding and extending the lifespan of critical engine components. The innovative design contains exhaust gas heat within the turbocharger's hot side, keeping it away from the cool side and intake path. This containment helps reduce turbo lag and lower intake air temperatures, potentially leading to increased power output. It is important to note that the turbo blanket will lose some flexibility during its initial heat cycles as the material cures. For this reason, it should not be routinely removed after installation, as doing so can cause damage. The blanket is designed for specific Mini Cooper models including the R55-S Clubman (2008-2015), R56-S Hatchback (2007-2013), R57-S Convertible (2009-2015), R58-S Coupe (2011-2015), R59-S Roadster (2012-2015), R60-S Countryman (2011-2016), and R61-S Paceman (2013-2016).
