Turbo Heat Shield

The GrimmSpeed Version 2 Turbo Heat Shield is engineered to combat heat soak in Subaru EJ-series turbocharged engines. The turbocharger generates significant heat, which can negatively impact intercooler performance and lead to power loss. Unlike the factory heat shield, which is incompatible with many aftermarket downpipes and turbos, the GrimmSpeed V2 is designed for broader compatibility. Constructed from robust 304 stainless steel, this heat shield is CNC-cut and bent for a precise fit. It is available in a raw brushed finish or with a black ceramic coating for enhanced heat management. For additional thermal protection, an optional pre-cut DEI Reflect-A-GOLD™ foil can be added. All necessary Grade 10.9 zinc-plated hardware for installation is included, and the product is designed, manufactured, and assembled in the USA. Testing indicates it can reduce TMIC surface temperature by over 36% when combined with the black ceramic coating and gold foil. Installation requires reusing the OEM heat shield brackets; replacement brackets are available separately if needed. Some users have reported that the heat shield's mounting points can crack over time, particularly with aftermarket downpipes.
