The Forge Motorsport Turbo Inlet Adaptor (FMTIA3) is engineered to optimize airflow to the turbocharger in VAG 1.0 TSI engines. The stock plastic turbo inlet, which features a restrictive noise chamber that disrupts airflow, is replaced by this performance-oriented adaptor. By removing this chamber and increasing overall volume and flow capacity, the FMTIA3 allows the turbocharger to compress more air, resulting in noticeable improvements in engine performance and acceleration. Constructed from reinforced multi-ply silicone, the FMTIA3 offers superior durability compared to the original plastic component and is designed to resist heat soak. It is compatible with both early and later engine revisions, accommodating vehicles with or without the PCV system integrated into the turbo intake. The necessary hardware for adaptation to different engine setups is included. Installation is designed to be straightforward, typically taking around 60 minutes with basic tools, and comprehensive instructions are provided. When tuning the 1.0 TSI engine, this adaptor is recommended for achieving consistent power gains of 3-5 bhp, depending on the vehicle's existing tune. For optimal results, Forge Motorsport suggests pairing this adaptor with their own intake systems, although it is compatible with the factory air box.
