The Forge Motorsport Turbo Inlet Adaptor (FMTIA6) is engineered to maximize turbocharger capacity and airflow for the VW MK8 GTI and compatible Audi models. This adaptor directly replaces the restrictive OEM part (5WA.129.635), which features a ribbed hose that can negatively impact performance, particularly in tuned applications. The kit includes a smooth silicone inlet hose constructed with a Fluorosilicone inner liner, making it suitable for modern coolants and air containing oil mist. Crafted from cast aluminum and machined to precise tolerances, this turbo inlet elbow ensures a superb fit and enhances the engine bay's aesthetics. Installation is straightforward, typically taking around 30 minutes with basic tools. The design increases the inlet elbow's surface area by 30%, promoting smoother airflow and improved turbocharger efficiency. Independent testing on a stock vehicle demonstrated an increase in throttle response with a gain of 12 NM of torque between 2000-2400 RPM, along with a smoother torque curve up to 3300 RPM and a slight BHP increase at 5300 RPM. For Stage 1 tuned vehicles, gains of approximately 7 BHP can be expected. This adaptor is particularly beneficial when combined with Forge product FMMD6 and is recommended as an initial modification for the 2.0 TSI (EA888 GEN4 engine with DNP code). The product comes with a lifetime warranty.
