Turbo Master Wastegate Control

The Heath Diesel Turbo Master is a mechanical wastegate control solution engineered to enhance boost pressure capabilities for GM-5 and GM-8 turbos equipped with a vertical wastegate actuator. This unit is specifically designed for application on 1996 and newer trucks, Suburbans, and certain motorhomes that utilize these GM turbochargers. The Turbo Master's primary function is to optimize the wastegate operation. It achieves this by correcting the geometry of the original equipment (OE) lever, which in turn grants the adjustable spring superior leverage over the wastegate valve. This modification facilitates higher, more controlled boost levels. According to user feedback, the Turbo Master offers an alternative to OE vacuum systems, especially when those systems have failed or when cost-effectiveness is a primary concern. In comparison to electronic control systems paired with performance chips, the Turbo Master can provide a more adaptive boost level that compensates for atmospheric pressure changes. Additionally, it may offer improved spool-up under rapid acceleration by opening at a set back pressure, whereas OE systems reference boost pressure alone.
