Turbochargers are crucial for modern vehicles, allowing smaller displacement engines to achieve the power of larger ones while often improving fuel efficiency. This turbocharger utilizes exhaust gas to pressurize intake air, enabling more fuel to be added for increased power and efficiency. This turbocharger is specifically designed for the Volkswagen Passat with the 2.0L TDI CKRA engine, covering model years 2012 through 2014. It fits various trims including the SE, SEL, and SEL Premium sedans, for both automatic dual-clutch and manual transmissions. Symptoms of a worn turbocharger can include oil leaks, smoking exhaust, low boost pressure, limp mode engagement, high oil consumption, or play in the turbine shaft. If you experience any of these issues, replacing the turbocharger is advised to prevent further engine damage. Please note that this turbocharger assembly does not include gaskets; they must be purchased separately.
