The Falcon Turbos K26-0005 is a "plug & play" turbocharger upgrade system engineered for specific BMW models including the 535d (F07 GT), 740d (F01), X5 40dx (E70), and X6 40dx (E71) equipped with N57D30B and N57D30TOP engines. This upgrade aims to enhance engine performance by increasing clean air flow, which directly translates to improved torque, power, and acceleration responsiveness. The design also contributes to more efficient fuel burning, leading to better MPG and lower emissions. Key internal components of this turbocharger upgrade include a lightweight 79mm billet compressor wheel with an extended tip, and a larger 9-blade high-flow shaft wheel that is 55g lighter than the original. The housing and seal plate are precisely CNC machined, and the unit features a large-pad stainless steel thrust pad and collar, a 360° bronze thrust bearing, and step-gap high-temperature oil seals. For reliability and performance, the turbocharger is balanced on a Turbo-Technics VSR400 rig to over 120,000 rpm. To achieve optimal results and boost levels, several supporting modifications are recommended. These include a bigger front mount intercooler, an EGR delete kit, a DPF delete or stainless steel exhaust system, and a STAGE 3 ECU tune. The unit is capable of producing 440bhp with the stock intercooler and DPF, and up to 500bhp with these supporting modifications. For peak performance with upgraded fueling systems, power output can reach 475bhp, or 480bhp+ with fuel pump, injector, and fuel rail upgrades. Installation should be performed by a professional garage or qualified technician.
