The Garrett PowerMax GT2260S Turbocharger is engineered as a direct bolt-in upgrade for the VW and Audi MK7 & 8V (MQB) platform. It incorporates GTX Gen 2 compressor wheel aerodynamics, a cast aluminum compressor housing, and a Mar-M alloy turbine wheel within a stainless steel twin-scroll turbine housing. This unit boasts a 360-degree reinforced thrust bearing and provides 17% more flow than the stock IS38 turbo. For optimal performance, the GT2260S is intended to be paired with iE Stage 3 tuning, which is sold separately. The package includes the complete GT2260S turbocharger, a proprietary cast turbo inlet pipe, a diverter valve, and a wastegate assembly. Note that replacement gaskets and bolts are not included and are recommended for installation. Significant hardware and tuning upgrades are required for the GT2260S to perform optimally. These include a Stage 3 engine tune, transmission tune (a clutch upgrade is required for manual transmissions), an upgraded air intake system, intercooler, high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP), and a high-flow downpipe. The Garrett GT2260S includes a proprietary turbo inlet pipe and is not compatible with aftermarket inlet pipes or turbo muffler deletes. This turbocharger fits the VW Golf R (2015-2019), VW GTI (2015-2021), VW GLI (2015-2022), Audi S3 (2015-2017), and Audi A3 (2.0T AWD only, 2015-2021). However, Stage 3 tuning is not available for 2023-2024 GLI models. It is incompatible with FWD Audi A3 engines and may not be compatible with all Audi TT/TTS ECUs; users should contact iE to verify ECU compatibility. Stage 3 tuning may also have limitations for Rest-Of-World (ROW) ECUs.
