The PerformanceTDI GTD1756vrk is a hybrid turbocharger designed as a significant performance upgrade for 1.9 and 2.0 TDI Volkswagen diesel engines, including ALH, BEW, BHW, BRM, CBEA, and CJAA engine codes. Based on the BMW GTD1752vrk, this unit has been converted to vacuum actuation and fitted with a TDI exhaust manifold, capable of safely producing up to 250BHP and 500NM of torque. Its 5th generation Variable Nozzle Turbine (VNT) system provides faster spool, improved manifold pressure control at high RPMs, greater EGT capacity, and increased peak torque at lower engine speeds compared to previous generations. Installation of the GTD1756vrk is not a direct bolt-on and requires further modifications. It is recommended to upgrade the MAP sensor, fuel system, exhaust system, and cooling system. A braided oil feed line is also advised, and depending on the manifold mounting (bottom or top), additional fitment considerations may apply, especially for swapped engines. The top-mounted option is recommended if clearance is an issue, positioning the turbo behind the intake manifold. Key specifications include Garrett ceramic ball bearings, a 56mm 6+6 compressor wheel, a 2.5" compressor housing inlet, a 2" outlet, and a 2.75" downpipe diameter. The turbo is 100% oil-cooled and has a maximum safe boost of 2.3 BAR (34psi). It also features an EGR-deleted manifold and high EGTs capacity. The product comes with a 12-month warranty. All turbos are manufactured in the EU from new quality components, with remanufactured turbine and compressor housings, and are fully balanced and calibrated.
