The STM 680 Small Battery Kit is a battery tray designed for 2G DSM vehicles. It is constructed from billet aluminum with stainless steel hardware and mounts using existing chassis points for easy installation. This kit allows for a weight reduction of 27 pounds compared to the factory battery, helping to shift weight to the rear and clean up the engine bay.

The STM lightweight small battery kit for 2G DSM is engineered to significantly reduce weight and improve weight distribution. This kit allows for a drop of 27 pounds compared to the factory battery, lightening the front of the car and aiding in transferring weight to the rear, while also cleaning up the engine bay. The STM tray is precision-machined from billet aluminum and features tig-welded construction, CNC engraving, and stainless hardware. The kit is available with or without the Odyssey PC680 battery; battery purchases include a new set of terminals. It will not support aftermarket stereos and is not ideal in cold temperatures. The Odyssey PC680 battery, while commonly used by the racing community, is not intended for automotive use. STM offers a Lifetime Guarantee on the battery tray itself, but not on the batteries, as they are used in ways not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Battery life can vary from 1 to 10 years and should be considered a maintenance item. For optimal performance, especially in street cars with 300-600 HP, the battery is suitable for sitting for a week and for weekend racing or daily driving in temperatures between 40-90°F. If the vehicle sits for over two weeks or is exposed to freezing temperatures, using a battery charger is recommended. The battery will start a car with a working alternator, but repeated ignition attempts can deplete a small battery quickly. Ensure posts are torqued to 50 inch-pounds to prevent damage.
