Turbocharger Upgrade B46/B48 Dual Ceramic Ball Bearing

The IPOSMotorsport IM450 Turbocharger Upgrade is engineered to provide a significant performance boost for B46 and B48 engines. The unit retains the original intake and charge pipe routing for a more straightforward integration. Key internal components include resized exhaust housings with a .64 AR and compressor housings with a .57 AR. The manifold exhaust path has been optimized for improved flow, and the turbo features larger compressor and turbine wheels. For enhanced longevity and smooth operation, it utilizes a dual ceramic ball bearing system and undergoes VSR machine balancing. The design also allows for the reuse of the OEM wastegate. This turbo is a brand-new, recast unit, eliminating the need for a core return. Compatibility extends to both Gen1 B4x, B4xTU, and Mini/Transverse engines, with specific vehicle fitments including the 230i, 330i, 430i, 220i, 320i, and 420i. It is important to note that MINI turbochargers do not support the optional compressor mod housings; only the 'Normal' housing option is compatible. Optional compressor housing modifications, such as the 'T51R Mod' and 'Compressor Holes', are available at an additional cost and may add to the build time, offering a distinct auditory experience. An optional installation kit is highly recommended, comprising essential components like the OEM exhaust manifold gasket, coolant and oil O-rings, exhaust side studs and nuts, and a downpipe gasket. Regarding aftermarket intakes, the use of a 3-inch rubber coupler is advised, as the plastic inlet pipe has been discontinued; this does not affect Mini models due to their integrated inlet design.
