The Exedy MM022SD Hyper Twin Cerametallic Clutch Kit is engineered for demanding street and motorsport use, including drag, road, and rally racing. This twin-disc system doubles the clutch surface area compared to stock, making it ideal for vehicles with significantly increased power output. The kit features durable cerametallic discs and a lightweight chromoly steel flywheel for optimal performance and reduced rotational mass. This specific SD (Standard Duty) model is rated to handle up to 450 Wheel Horsepower (WHP) and features a pull-type design with a purple anodized forged aluminum clutch cover. The cerametallic friction material provides excellent heat resistance and engagement for spirited driving and demanding launches. Despite its high performance, the pedal feel is often described as firm but manageable, making it a recommended choice for enthusiasts seeking enhanced clutch capacity without sacrificing too much streetability. Installation requires specific torque values: 99 ft-lb for the Flywheel to Crank Bolt and 23 ft-lb for the Pressure Plate Assembly to Flywheel. The kit includes a clutch cover, intermediate plates, discs, and an alignment tool. It is designed for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution models from 1996-2001 (Evo 4/5/6) and 2001-2006 (Evo 7/8/9).
