It offers a balanced approach, combining a high-performance pressure plate with a unique dual-faced friction disc. One side is organic for smooth, predictable engagement during everyday driving, while the ceramic-faced side provides enhanced heat capacity for more aggressive use. This clutch system is rated to handle up to 550 horsepower, making it suitable for Mustangs equipped with bolt-on modifications or those frequently used for heavy street/strip driving where drivability remains a key concern. The kit includes an 11-inch diameter disc and features a 26-spline input shaft, designed for compatibility with upgraded transmissions. A pilot bushing and a spline-matched alignment tool are provided to facilitate a precise and correct installation. Installation requires a 500-mile break-in period involving stop-and-go street driving before engaging in full-throttle acceleration. It is crucial to note that this kit is not compatible with the factory OEM flywheel for 2011-2017 Mustangs equipped with the 5.0L Coyote engine; use of a McLeod flywheel is recommended for optimal performance, wear, and holding power.
