Dobinsons Twin Tube Shock Absorbers, like the GS59-940, are engineered to provide a significant performance upgrade over standard shocks, enhancing both vehicle handling and control. Developed and tested in Australia, they are built to endure extreme conditions, from intense heat to subzero temperatures. The twin-tube big-bore design utilizes larger bodies and bores to effectively reduce shock fade, ensuring consistent performance even under heavy loads or on harsh terrains. The shocks also incorporate Teflon piston rings to reduce internal friction, a double-chromed 18mm rod for increased strength and resistance to wear and corrosion, and natural rubber bushings for improved ride comfort and noise reduction. A steel dust cover is included for added protection against debris. These shocks are designed as a direct bolt-in OE replacement, intended for straightforward installation without requiring modifications. The installation typically involves bolting and does not require drilling. While specific installation guides for the GS59-940 are not always available, the process is generally considered light to moderate in mechanical skill and can take approximately 2 hours. The Dobinsons GS59-940 rear shocks are specifically designed to fit all 2005-2023 Toyota Tacoma models. They are optimized for 0-2.5 inches of rear suspension lift.
