Description

The 3M 08115 Panel Bonding Adhesive is a high-performance, two-component epoxy formulated for automotive body panel repair. It provides a strong, durable bond for a wide range of substrates, including properly prepared steel, aluminum, SMC, and FRP (traditional fiberglass). This adhesive is OEM-recommended and trusted for non-structural repairs, making it ideal for replacing components like quarter panels, roof skins, door skins, box sides, and bumper covers. Designed for versatility, the 08115 adhesive can be used to reinforce existing welded or riveted structural components. It allows for weld bonding or rivet bonding during its work time, offering technicians flexibility in securing panels while the epoxy cures. The formulation includes corrosion inhibitors and glass bead technology, which acts as a built-in spacer to ensure optimal bond line thickness and prevent over-clamping, resulting in a consistent, rust-resistant bond. Application is made efficient with the convenient 200 mL dual cartridge, which works seamlessly with standard 3M manual or pneumatic applicator guns. No pre-mixing or measuring is required, and the adhesive applies quickly. It offers an extended work time of up to two hours for precise alignment, with a 24-hour full cure at room temperature. For accelerated repairs, heat-assisted curing is an option. The adhesive also boasts an excellent shelf life, even after opening, reducing waste and cost.
