Type 2 Power Steering & Sanden AC Bracket System

The Kwik Performance K10742 Bracket System is engineered to facilitate the integration of a hydraulic power steering pump and a Sanden Mini AC compressor onto 2014-2019 Chevy LT Gen 5 truck engines (L83, L86). This addresses the common issue where donor trucks utilize electric power steering and variable displacement AC compressors, which are often incompatible with project vehicles that require hydraulic power steering and aftermarket AC systems. Constructed from robust 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with a brushed satin finish, the bracket system is designed for durability and a clean aesthetic. The kit includes the main bracket, all necessary spacers, zinc-coated fasteners, a power steering pump, a remote reservoir with a feed hose, and idler pulleys. A unique design feature is the mounting of the power steering pump on the passenger's side of the engine. This placement is necessary due to the offset water pump on the driver's side and intentionally leaves the original location of the driver-side low-mount vacuum pump open, accommodating builders who wish to retain it. To complete the installation, several other components are required, including the GM LT Gen 5 truck engine harmonic balancer and water pump, an LT Truck alternator, a six-rib belt (Gates K061105 recommended, though length may vary), a Sanden Mini AC compressor (SD7B10 or 7176), and potentially a specific power steering hose kit (Kwik Performance PN K10549) due to the relocated pump.
