Type-CJ Carbon Fiber Cowl Hood

The Anderson Composites Type-CJ carbon fiber cowl hood is meticulously crafted for the 2013-2014 Ford Mustang, aiming to shed weight and enhance the vehicle's style. This hood is produced using a vacuum-infused process with premium 3K, 2x2 twill carbon fiber cloth. It is finished with a marine-grade gel coat that includes UV inhibitors, ensuring a durable and high-luster surface. The construction involves bonding the carbon fiber (A side) to a fiberglass skeleton (B side), resulting in a component that weighs approximately 23 lbs, a substantial reduction from the stock hood's 32 lbs. Installation requires the use of OE hardware, which is not included. Modifications may be necessary for the proper fitment of OE windshield washer spray nozzles and fluid lines. Anderson Composites strongly advises against reinstalling OE gas struts, as they can exert excessive pressure on composite hoods; care should be taken when closing the hood to prevent damage. Additionally, all hoods require hood pins for safety, and a heat shield is also required. Minor adjustments to mounting tabs may be necessary during installation.
