Type-OE Dry Carbon Fiber Hood

The Anderson Composites Type-OE dry carbon fiber hood is engineered as a direct replacement for the 2020-2024 Chevrolet Corvette C8 models, including the Z06 Convertible, Stingray Convertible, Z06 Coupe, and Stingray Coupe. Crafted using an autoclave process with 3K, 2x2 twill carbon fiber cloth, this hood features a matte finish and an OEM-plus look. It is designed to reduce weight, with the hand-crafted component weighing approximately 9 lbs compared to the factory hood's 15.7 lbs. This reduction contributes to improved handling and throttle response. The design also focuses on heat management to support consistent performance under load. Installation requires the use of OE hardware, which is not supplied. For safety reasons, all hoods require hood pins, and Anderson Composites states they will not be liable for damages if hood pins are not properly used. Additionally, a heat shield is required. It is advised not to reinstall gas shocks/dampers/struts, as they can place excessive pressure on a composite hood; always close composite hoods carefully. Minor adjustments may be necessary during installation, and professional installation by an expert experienced with carbon fiber components is recommended for optimal fitment. Note that this DRY carbon fiber hood does not have UV protection. It is recommended to apply an automotive-grade clear coat with UV inhibitors if the part will not be painted or wrapped.
