This unit is ideal for those who prefer a lower-maintenance racing-grade differential and drive lower-powered, compact cars. It is particularly beneficial for standing-start drag racing, short-track events, and autocross with light-trigger starts. The Type-RS design distinguishes itself with an initial lock setting that is more consistent and evenly distributed over its friction plates compared to traditional limited-slip differentials. The integrated inner-coil spring system enables a reduction in initial lock on the friction plates while achieving a comparable response. This design actively maintains contact between the friction plates, which helps prolong their lifespan and prevents surface deformation. Furthermore, the RS Type's construction minimizes plate chattering by ensuring consistent pressure distribution across the radius of the friction plates. The inclusion of an oil-through design guarantees a positive, pressurized flow of differential gear oil to all internal components, promoting efficient operation and durability.
