It is particularly suited for competition use in lower-powered, compact cars, as well as for standing-start drag racing and short-track or autocross events. This LSD provides a more immediate actuation response from the initial lock setting to the maximum preset lock rate, ensuring a consistent and evenly spread lock across its friction plates. Constructed with a high-tension chrome-molybdenum steel housing, the Type-RS LSD utilizes an inner-coil spring design that allows for less initial lock while achieving a similar response to traditional units. This design, combined with springs that maintain even contact pressure, prolongs the life of the friction plates and prevents their deformation. Furthermore, large oil windows and a positive pressurized oil-flow system ensure efficient lubrication throughout the differential, minimizing chattering and maximizing clutch efficiency. This differential is compatible with Cusco Street ZERO-A and Street Spec-A suspension coilover systems. It is designed for a 1.5-2 way operation with an initial torque setting of 8-10 kg. The unit features Cusco's original groove-cut technology, which enhances clutch efficiency and promotes stability and smooth engagement.
