Typhoon Cold-Air Intake System

The K&N 69-6501TP Typhoon cold-air intake system is engineered as a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system for select Mitsubishi Eclipse and Eclipse GT models. It directly replaces the factory air filter and intake housing, which are often restrictive. This increased volume of air allows the engine to generate more power and acceleration across the entire RPM range. The system features an oversized, cone-shaped K&N high-flow air filter, protected by a water-repellent DryCharger wrap to guard against moisture. This washable and reusable lifetime air filter can last up to 100,000 miles before requiring service, depending on driving conditions. The installation is generally straightforward, typically completed in 90 minutes or less. The intake pipe is constructed from aluminum and is available in a polished or blue finish. The kit includes the K&N air filter, silicone couplers, stainless steel clamps, and mounting hardware. It comes with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty. Note that some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states that adopt California emission standards; however, this specific model (69-6501TP) has a CARB EO Number D-269-32, indicating it is CARB exempt and 50-state legal.
