The K&N 69-6501TB Typhoon cold-air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Mitsubishi Eclipse models. It replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing with a K&N high-flow air filter.

The K&N 69-6501TB Typhoon cold-air intake system is engineered to provide a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction path for enhanced engine performance. This system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and housing with a K&N high-flow, washable cotton gauze air filter, which can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This allows your engine to inhale a larger volume of denser air, resulting in more usable power and improved acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The oversized cone-shaped air filter is pre-oiled and includes a water-repellent DryCharger filter wrap for moisture protection. Installation is designed to be relatively easy, typically completed in 90 minutes or less. This specific system is noted to fit certain 2000-2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT 3.0L models. Some K&N Typhoon air intakes may not be legal for sale or use in California or other states adopting California emission standards; however, this particular system has a CARB EO Number (D-269-32), indicating it is CARB exempt and 50-state legal. Key specifications include a blue intake pipe finish, a red air filter color, and an estimated horsepower gain of 6.9 HP at 5800 RPM. The system includes mounting hardware and couplers, and a mass air flow sensor adapter is included when required.
