U SERIES 15IN V.2 D2 (1750 RMS) SUBWOOFER

The Sundown Audio U Series v.2 is a premier "standard suspension" woofer. This 15-inch dual 2-ohm subwoofer is an improvement over its predecessor, featuring a double-stacked 9.44-inch wide Y35 grade ferrite magnet system, a one-piece bumped T-Yoke, and a 0.6-inch thick top-plate. It also includes thick (5mm) aluminum shorting rings inside the magnets to reduce static inductance and a pole-cap aluminum shorting ring for heat dissipation and airflow. The motor has a 0.6-inch long pole-extension for coil control at high excursion levels. It utilizes a 2.36-inch long, 3-inch diameter 4-layer aluminum winding voice coil with a stronger aluminum former. Coil temperature is managed by high-velocity pole channels and 16 direct air-gap vents in the back plate. The U v.2 series also features custom-tooled cast aluminum vent rings for efficient airflow over the voice coil. The custom-tooled cast aluminum frame is thicker with stiffening/heat dissipation ribs. It boasts a stronger motor (15% more powerful) and enhanced mechanical capacity, boosting its power rating to 1750-watts RMS from the previous 1500-watt rating. It's designed for both everyday listening and SPL competitions.
