U1R Lithium Battery

The Antigravity U1R lithium battery is specifically designed as a direct drop-in replacement for NA and NB Mazda Miata models. It offers a substantial weight reduction, shedding nearly 17 lbs compared to the stock battery, bringing the total weight down to a mere 7.4 lbs. This LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) battery is built for longevity, boasting an 8-10 year lifespan and backed by a 5-year warranty, making it a cost-effective solution over time. Equipped with an intelligent Battery Monitoring System (BMS), this battery prevents over-discharge, over-charge, over-voltage, and short-circuits, ensuring safe operation and protecting your vehicle's electrical system. It provides a higher resting voltage for improved starting power, delivering 925 Cold Crank Amps (CA) compared to the stock battery's approximate 400 CA. The integrated Re-Start technology, activated via a button on the battery or an included remote, ensures you can always start your car even if accessories like lights are left on. While technically compatible with NC and ND models, it is a physically smaller battery and not the correct size (51R). A key consideration is performance in cold weather; this battery is not recommended if your vehicle is frequently stored or operated in conditions below 20°F (-7°C). High temperatures are also a factor, though it should perform fine in a standard underhood installation as long as the battery temperature stays below 190°F (88°C). Note that LiFePO4 batteries require a specific charger; using a generic lead-acid charger will damage the battery. Due to shipping regulations, this battery can only be shipped to the continental US.
