UG SMIC Bar and Plate Intercooler

The TyrolSport UG SMIC is a high-performance alternative to the stock intercooler for VW Mk4 Golf, GTI, and Jetta models equipped with the 1.8T or TDI engine. This side mount intercooler (SMIC) is hand-fabricated and proudly made in the U.S.A., utilizing a robust bar and plate Bell intercooler design for improved cooling efficiency. While it integrates with existing components, minor trimming of the headlight support may be required for proper fitment. For 2003 models, a VIN number may be necessary to ensure the correct sensor size for your specific application. Some installations have also noted the need to dremel the IAT hole for sensor fitment and potentially bend a bracket. This intercooler is specifically designed for the VW Mk4 chassis, including models like the 337/20th, GTI, and other 1.8T variants. It is also noted as the only SMIC available for the New Beetle. Other intercooler brands may not fit due to different outlet angles.
