The 3M Scotch-Brite 7447 General Purpose Hand Pad is a versatile abrasive tool engineered for effective cutting action and precise hand control. Utilizing very fine grade aluminum oxide abrasives, this maroon pad delivers a fast, smooth finish and is comparable to steel wool grade 1, without the drawbacks of shredding or rusting. Constructed from a non-woven, open-web material, the 7447 pad resists loading and can be used effectively whether dry, with water, or with solvents. Its open-web design allows for the abrasive minerals to continuously cut at high performance by limiting clogging, ensuring consistent results. The pad measures 6 x 9 inches and can be used by hand, with a hand pad block for uniform finishing, or on an in-line sander for larger areas. This hand pad is suitable for a wide variety of substrates, including all metal, composite, fiberglass, gelcoat, paint, plastic, solid surface, and wood. Its applications are extensive, ranging from blending, contour finishing, and corrosion removal to general-purpose sanding, pre-paint scuffing, stainless steel finishing, and surface activation.
