Overview

The CAE Ultra Shifter is a RACE version shifter optimized for motorsports, designed for Subaru STI models with 6-speed H-pattern manual transmissions from model years 2008-2018. It features a short, precise shifting travel and an H-pattern selector. The shifter's ergonomic design places the lever close to the steering wheel for optimal control during spirited driving.

The reverse gear is activated via a cable reel system, preventing accidental engagement by pulling up a sliding collar on the shift lever. The shifter is constructed from lightweight yet stable 7075 aluminum alloy and AlMg3 aluminum, combined using WIG welding for durability.

The CAE Ultra Shifter - RACE Version is engineered for the demands of motorsports, offering a significantly improved shifting experience for Subaru STI vehicles equipped with 6-speed H-pattern, rod-shifted manual transmissions. Designed for model years 2008-2018, this shifter boasts exceptionally short and precise shifting travel, with the shift pattern confined to a compact 65 x 65 mm area, placing the shift lever ergonomically close to the steering wheel for rapid gear changes. Construction prioritizes both low weight and high stability, utilizing a milled and lathed 7075 aluminum alloy for key components and laser-cut, 3mm thick AlMg3 aluminum for substructures. These parts are expertly joined via WIG welding and finished with a brushed blank for a premium look and feel. The integrated center position spring provides clear feedback during shifts, while adjustable right/left and reverse gear stops allow for fine-tuning. An innovative cable reel system ensures the reverse gear lock is activated from the shift lever, making accidental engagement virtually impossible; the reverse gear is unlocked by pulling up the sliding collar. Installation of this RACE version shifter requires slight modification to the center console and is explicitly NOT for use with the original center console. The kit includes the shifter assembly, a special shift rod, all necessary small parts, and fastening materials with detailed installation instructions.
