The JBR Under Mounted Front Mounted Intercooler Piping Kit is engineered to enhance the cooling performance of your 2009-2013 Mazdaspeed 3. When aiming for higher horsepower, the stock top-mount intercooler falls short; this kit facilitates the replacement of the OEM unit with a larger front-mounted intercooler (FMIC), significantly boosting cooling capacity. Constructed from mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum piping, the kit features 7-layer, high-strength, thick-walled silicone hoses and couplers, all secured with stainless T-bolt clamps. This robust construction ensures durability and efficient airflow. Routing the hot side piping beneath the motor reduces overall piping length by 12-16% compared to other kits, contributing to quicker turbo spool and reduced boost temperatures. The one-piece silicone hose used after the intercooler minimizes connection points, reducing the potential for leaks and maintaining cooler air charge temperatures due to silicone's low heat transfer coefficient. It is recommended for use with Treadstone TR8, TR8L, or TR6 intercoolers. All kits include necessary coolant and vacuum hoses for turbo clocking. A wastegate actuator mounting bracket and coolant mounting bracket are required when using the kit with the OEM or BNR S1 turbo. Specific intercooler installations may require additional components: 2007-2009 models require core mounting brackets (included), 2010-2013 models with a TR8 intercooler require a crash bar, and 2010-2013 models with a TR6 intercooler require mounting brackets (no crash bar needed).
