Overview

This kit is intended for applications not covered by direct bolt-in crossmembers and is designed for the early GM 2-stud pattern on 1-1/2” center. It can be adapted for other manufacturer vehicles with modifications.

The kit requires cutting and welding capabilities and has a maximum overall length of 61". It includes exhaust cutouts, frame rail mounting angles, tubing, a slotted center tube with an access pocket, a transmission mount washer plate, and an optional transmission mounting tab. The product features a structural steel finish.

While primarily intended for GM Rear-Wheel Drive vehicles from 1955 to the present, this kit can be modified for use in other manufacturer vehicles, though adaptation for the specific transmission mount pattern will be necessary. This kit is tailored for the early GM 2-stud pattern with a 1-1/2” center measurement. It requires the installer to possess cutting and welding capabilities. The components can extend up to a maximum overall length of 61" across the vehicle. The RCKIT comes complete with two exhaust cutouts (8" outer width, 7" inner width), two 2" x 2" frame rail mounting angles, a 32" length of tubing, a 13" slotted center tube featuring an underside access pocket for easier transmission mount installation, a transmission mount washer plate, and an optional transmission mounting tab. Installation requires either enlarging frame rail holes to 1/2" to accommodate the provided 7/16" hardware or using new Grade #8 fasteners if retaining the stock 3/8" hardware. The crossmember should be installed with the G Force label facing the rear, and the center tube's drain slot positioned on the bottom and passenger side. The exhaust clearance humps should be installed closed on top and open on the bottom.
