The Nexiq Universal J560 PLC Adapter is a diagnostic adapter designed for heavy-duty trucks and trailers. It extends the capabilities of J1708/J1587 diagnostic tools to support J2497 Power Line Carrier (PLC) communication. This adapter extracts data from the power line and converts it into J1708 format.

The Nexiq Universal J560 PLC Adapter (part number 604120 / NQ604120) is a rugged, shop-grade diagnostic adapter essential for working with ABS brakes on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. It interfaces with all WABCO® PLC trailer brakes and improves communication performance. This adapter extends the capability of J1708/J1587 diagnostic tools to support J2497 Power Line Carrier (PLC) communication. It extracts data from the power line and converts it to J1708, allowing you to use generic ABS diagnostic software to detect ABS warning lamp messages from the trailer ECU, test the in-cab trailer ABS warning lamp, and test SAE J1708 MID 10 and 11 messages, as well as SAE J1587 MIDs 136 through 139. The adapter can be connected between the tractor and trailer, or to the trailer independently. It is compatible with virtually any heavy-duty vehicle communication interface or scan tool.
