The CAE Ultra Shifter is a meticulously engineered manual transmission upgrade optimized for motor sports and enthusiasts seeking enhanced driving dynamics in their BMWs. This universal kit is designed to fit a wide range of BMW models equipped with 5 and 6-speed Getrag and ZF transmissions, accommodating both standard H-pattern and Dog Leg H configurations. Constructed with a focus on performance and durability, the shifter utilizes high-strength 7075 aluminum alloy for its milled and lathed components, complemented by laser-cut 3mm AlMg3 aluminum substructures. These parts are expertly combined using WIG welding and finished with a brushed blank for a superior aesthetic and tactile feel. The shifter boasts short, precise shifting travel and an optimal ergonomic design that positions the shift lever close to the steering wheel, minimizing hand movement and maximizing driver control. Key features include an integrated center position spring that provides perfect feedback during gear changes, and separately adjustable right/left and reverse gear stops to prevent accidental engagement. Activation of the reverse gear lock is managed via a cable reel from the shift lever, ensuring that accidental shifting into reverse is impossible. The shifter's design facilitates problem-free gear changes even under the stress of racing or spirited driving. This kit comes completely assembled with all necessary screws and small parts for adaptation to the BMW switch rod.
