Upgraded Valve Springs

The BNR Valve Springs are a performance upgrade designed to address the known weakness of the factory valve springs in 1.4T engines. These springs are essential for anyone looking to achieve serious boost levels, as stock springs can begin to float at boost pressures exceeding 21psi after 5500RPM, preventing valves from closing fully. This set includes 16 springs, manufactured in the USA, and engineered to maintain OEM dimensions so that factory retainers and locks can be reused. The seat pressure is substantially increased from 44.5 lbs to 70 lbs, while the open pressure is raised from 78.5 lbs to 115 lbs. This allows for reliable operation at higher RPMs and boost levels. Extensive torture testing has confirmed the durability and effectiveness of these springs, making them a trusted component in many 1.4T race engines. One customer reported successfully running 24psi all the way to 8900RPM without experiencing valve float, utilizing a larger turbocharger, BNR Forged Pistons, and a balanced rotating assembly. Installation is noted as being difficult and time-consuming, requiring special tools and approximately 7 hours, but is considered worthwhile for the enhanced performance and reliability.
