Upper Dogbone Mount Insert

The 034Motorsport Upper Dogbone Mount Insert is engineered to resolve drivetrain stress issues encountered during spirited driving. When combined with a lower dogbone mount insert, this setup significantly enhances drivetrain responsiveness. However, extreme events like wheel-hop can induce bending moments on the OEM dogbone mount arm, potentially leading to failure. This insert addresses that vulnerability. Constructed from CNC machined 6061 billet aluminum and featuring a clear anodized finish for durability and aesthetics, this upper insert works in conjunction with a water-jet cut aluminum lower insert spacer. The spacer prevents the upper and lower inserts from contacting each other, ensuring smooth operation and eliminating excessive wear on the lower dogbone mount puck. The primary function of the upper insert is to limit the forward motion of the upper puck, matching the constrained motion of the lower puck. This synchronization eliminates rotational movement within the puck assembly during severe drivetrain shocks, thereby maintaining forces on the dogbone arm within its designed parameters. This product is recommended for any MkV/MkVI Volkswagen Golf/GTI/R/Jetta/GLI and 8P Audi A3 & 8J Audi TT/TTS/TTRS that utilizes a dogbone mount and a lower dogbone mount insert. It is particularly strongly recommended when using the OEM dogbone mount alongside a lower insert. The kit includes the 034Motorsport Upper Dogbone Mount Insert and the 034Motorsport Lower Dogbone Mount Insert Spacer.
