Upper Dogbone Mount Insert

The 034Motorsport Upper Dogbone Mount Insert is engineered to prevent drivetrain damage and improve driving feel in performance-oriented vehicles. It is constructed from a single piece of CNC machined 6061 billet aluminum and finished with a clear anodization for durability and corrosion resistance. The kit also includes a water-jet cut aluminum lower insert spacer. This insert is specifically designed for MkV/MkVI Volkswagen Golf/GTI/R/Jetta/GLI and 8P Audi A3/S3 & 8J Audi TT/TTS/TTRS models. It is recommended for any vehicle using a dogbone mount and a lower dogbone mount insert, especially when paired with the OEM dogbone mount. The primary function is to eliminate the bending moment that occurs in the dogbone mount arm during aggressive driving, such as burn-outs or wheel-hop. Without this insert, these forces can cause the arm to bend or fail, leading to the engine becoming unconstrained and potentially damaging other components. The installation of this upper insert, in conjunction with a lower insert, ensures that both upper and lower dogbone mount pucks are compressed evenly. It also eliminates excessive wear on the lower dogbone mount puck by limiting the forward motion of the upper puck. This results in a more direct transfer of power and improved throttle response without introducing significant noise, vibration, or harshness (NVH) into the cabin during normal or spirited driving. NVH levels are rated as low to medium, with no NVH at idle and potentially light NVH on initial take-off.
