Urethane Bushing Kit

The COBB Tuning Bushing Pack is an aftermarket upgrade for Subaru 5-speed manual transmission vehicles, specifically designed to enhance shifter precision. This kit replaces the factory rubber bushings at the shifter mechanism's pivot points with tighter-tolerance urethane bushings. This replacement directly addresses and eliminates the lateral slop inherent in the stock shifter mechanism, leading to a more direct and precise engagement with each gear. The factory shifter bushings are constructed from soft rubber to minimize noise and vibration transmission into the cabin. However, over time, these bushings can compress and degrade, exacerbating the feeling of vagueness and imprecision in the shifter's operation. This superior material compliance provides a more direct mechanical connection between the shift lever and the transmission's selector, while still offering some dampening to prevent excessive noise. The kit includes both front and rear bushings. The front bushing is critical for improving lateral precision in the gate-to-gate shifting direction, while the rear bushing enhances fore-aft precision during gear engagement. Replacing both bushings together offers a complete precision improvement, though standalone front or rear bushings are also available for targeted replacement if needed. This product is also offered as part of the COBB Stage 1+ Drivetrain Packages but can be installed individually. This bushing pack is compatible with 2002-2014 Subaru WRX models equipped with the EJ20/EJ255 5MT transmission, and 2005-2009 Subaru Legacy GT models with the EJ255 5MT transmission. Installation hardware is included in the box.
