The Kenwood P-XW1221DHP is a dual 12-inch subwoofer enclosure built for powerful bass performance. It utilizes injection polypropylene cones with a dual area cap design, providing the diaphragm with rigidity for enhanced power handling and more accurate bass reproduction. The subwoofer features a closed yoke with advanced airflow control and an aluminum bobbin for robust thermal management, ensuring durability during high-volume listening. Constructed from 5/8" MDF with a 3/4" thick MDF baffle, this enclosure is designed for superior strength and durability, which helps in producing accurate bass even at high volumes. The enclosure features a slant-back design that allows it to fit easily behind SUV rear seats and effectively suppresses standing waves. It also offers multiple installation options, including forward, rear, or down-firing configurations. For down-firing setups, enhanced structural support is provided by extra-thick legs to ensure low-frequency energy is transmitted without loss. This preloaded subwoofer enclosure is precisely power-matched to the Kenwood eXcelon XR1001-1 amplifier. It delivers 2000W of peak power and 1000W RMS power, with a 2-ohm impedance and a frequency response of 29Hz-300Hz. The design includes features to reduce port noise and comes with included steel mesh grilles, which have a separate retail value of $30 each. The enclosure is equipped with 8AWG-ready nickel-plated spring posts for secure connections.
