The Rockford Fosgate P3D4-12 is a 12-inch subwoofer from the Punch series, designed for cars and trucks. It features dual 4-Ohm voice coils and a 600 Watts RMS power handling capacity, with a maximum of 1200 Watts. This subwoofer is built with an anodized aluminum cone and dustcap, and includes a unique spider venting system to keep the motor cooler during operation. It also incorporates VAST technology to increase cone area and a FlexFit basket for challenging installations.

Constructed with a hybrid stamp-cast basket for strength and reduced resonance, the P3D4-12 includes custom 10-AWG nickel-plated push terminals, a dual linear spider with embedded tinsel leads, and an extended pole piece with a bumped vented backplate. It utilizes a high-temperature voice coil with a Nomex reinforcement collar for durability.

The Rockford Fosgate P3D4-12 Punch 12-inch subwoofer represents the pinnacle of performance within the Rockford Fosgate Punch series for car and truck audio applications. This subwoofer is engineered with dual 4-Ohm voice coils, offering versatile wiring configurations, and boasts a robust 600 Watts RMS power handling (1200 Watts peak). Further enhancing its performance and durability, the P3D4-12 features anodized aluminum cones and dustcaps, which contribute to superior heat dissipation. The innovative spider venting system works in conjunction with the anodized aluminum voice coil former to manage thermal build-up during high SPL conditions, ensuring cooler operation. The FlexFit basket provides slot-mounted frame patterns for easier installation tuning, while the hybrid stamp-cast basket combines exceptional strength with minimized weight and resonance. Specifications include a 2.5-inch voice coil diameter, a magnet weight of 96 oz, and a mounting depth of 6.66 inches. The subwoofer displacement is 0.106 cu. ft. For optimal performance, Rockford Fosgate recommends specific enclosure volumes, with 1.02 cu. ft. for sealed boxes and 1.79 cu. ft. for vented boxes. Additionally, it is advised to use an active 80-100Hz low-pass crossover at 12dB/octave for optimum subwoofer performance.
