Description

The Rockford Fosgate P3S 12" shallow mount subwoofer delivers impressive "Punch" bass, specifically engineered for vehicles where traditional deep subwoofers won't fit. This slim-profile woofer addresses the common challenge of limited space, allowing for real bass performance where it was previously impossible. Its Dual Voice Coil design offers versatile wiring options to suit various applications. Constructed with an anodized aluminum cone and dustcap, and featuring an M-Roll Santoprene™ surround, the P3SD2-12 is built for durability and sound quality. It utilizes a shallow motor assembly and a StampCast basket with integrated spider venting for efficient operation. The subwoofer is optimized for use in both sealed enclosures, requiring approximately 1.0 cubic feet of volume, and vented enclosures, needing around 1.25 cubic feet. Key features include a 400 Watts RMS power handling (800 Watts peak) and a sensitivity of 85 dB (1w/1m). The dual 10 AWG compression speaker connectors ensure secure connections, while the 51 oz. magnet contributes to its robust performance. The mounting depth is a shallow 3.65 inches, making it ideal for compact installations. The anodized aluminum voice coil former acts as a heat sink, dissipating thermal buildup during high SPL conditions for sustained performance. It also features stitched tinsel leads for enhanced reliability and the Vertical Attach Surround Technique (VAST) to increase the effective radiating cone area.
