Description

The AMP EFI USB-2920 is a USB to Serial Adapter featuring a genuine FTDI chipset, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of ECU products and all versions of TunerStudio software across various operating systems. This adapter is highly recommended for users whose tuning PC or laptop does not have a built-in DB9 Serial connector, providing a reliable solution for connecting to your ECU. For optimal performance and reliability, AMP EFI recommends using this adapter in conjunction with a standard 6-foot RS232 serial tuning cable. The USB adapter should be plugged directly into the laptop, avoiding USB extension cables which can act as noise-susceptible antennas. Using the RS232 cable to reach the ECU minimizes interference, especially critical with high-performance or rowdy ignition systems. Drivers for Windows 7 through Windows 11 and Windows Server, including both VCP and D2XX versions, are available for download. Installation guides for selected operating systems can also be found on the FTDIChip.com website.
