The Mach V COBB Accessport Vent Mount offers a durable, factory-quality solution for mounting your COBB Accessport. Unlike many 3D-printed alternatives, this mount is injection-molded from UV-stabilized plastic, matching the material and finish of your vehicle's original dash components. This construction prevents melting or bleaching from heat and sun exposure, ensuring longevity and a clean aesthetic. The mount installs easily into the dash vent, integrating with the defroster duct so that the vent functionality is retained. Installation involves popping out the stock vent, attaching the lower half of the mount to the defroster duct, installing the upper piece, and securing with the included screws. The Accessport then clicks into place with built-in retention clips and can be easily removed. Fitment considerations include the cable pass-through. While the newest Accessport-to-car cables fit without issue, older, fatter plugs may require slight filing of the cable pass-through. Additionally, the standard Cobb-supplied micro-USB cable for laptop connection will not fit through the mount; a special right-angle cable is available separately. Mach V specifically omitted a cable retention feature to prevent power interruptions to the Accessport during driving, which can occur if retention tabs are permanently depressed. The cable remains attached to the Accessport upon removal from the mount; it can be secured with a zip tie if desired.
