UZFE to W58/W55 Transmission Adapter Kit

The XAT Racing UZ to W58 Adapter Kit is engineered for enthusiasts performing manual transmission swaps, specifically enabling the integration of W58 or W55 transmissions with UZFE V8 engines. This comprehensive kit is designed to facilitate the addition of a 5-speed manual gearbox to vehicles such as the SC400 and GS400, providing a robust solution for powertrain conversion. Included in the kit are the adapter plate, a T56 hydro-throwout bearing (or an OEM T56 throw out bearing as an option), and a release bearing adapter kit. Stainless steel fittings are provided for the custom clutch line, ensuring a straightforward installation process. The kit is designed to leverage the original UZ V8 automatic bellhousing, guaranteeing precise fitment without the need for additional hardware or starter modifications. The design prioritizes reliability, using billet CNC-machined plates for exact length and avoiding aluminum ring gears in favor of hardened steel. Installation of this kit requires specific prerequisites. A UZ V8 automatic bellhousing (U1 or U2 from 4-speed and 5-speed automatics) is necessary; the 3UZ 6-speed bellhousing will not fit. Furthermore, this kit mandates the use of a 3/4" bore master cylinder. While the factory master cylinder might suffice in some applications, most Japanese master cylinders (typically 5/8" bore) will require replacement. The optional master cylinder provided may necessitate further chassis modifications for firewall mounting. Customers also have various clutch and flywheel options, including OEM-style, lightweight chromoly, and various twin-disc configurations from QuarterMaster, with specific clutch requirements like the SW20 MR-2 turbo for single-disc setups.
