V-8 Mounting Kit

The JTR Stealth V-8 Mounting Kit (Part Number DAT-200) is specifically engineered for V-8 engine conversions in 1970-1978 Datsun Z Cars. This kit provides the core components needed to integrate a V-8 engine into the classic Z car platform, allowing for a significant performance upgrade. When ordering, customers must select the appropriate transmission crossmember and driveshaft flanges. Available transmission options include those compatible with the T56, 700-R4, or Turbo-350 transmissions. Note that the T56 crossmember sits 1" lower in the center and may require modifications to the transmission tunnel. For 280Z models, the floor may need to be flattened to securely bolt the crossmember in place. Driveshaft flange selection depends on the pilot diameter of your differential. The standard DAT-110 flange fits a 2.25-inch pilot diameter, common in most 1970-1978 Z Cars (excluding 1975 models). 1975 Z Cars and 1979-1983 (ZX) models might have a 2.00-inch pilot diameter, requiring the DAT-110-2.0 flange, which uses 10 mm bolts instead of the 8 mm bolts found on the standard flange. A specific flange, DAT-110-300ZX, is also available for 300ZX applications. For installation, the use of socket head bolts (8mm or 10mm) is recommended due to clearance issues with standard hex-head bolts. Self-locking nuts are crucial for securing the flange to the differential to prevent loosening. The manufacturer also strongly recommends using Locktite® in conjunction with the self-locking nuts. If driveline vibrations occur post-installation, checking the differential flange bolts and potentially replacing the front differential mount are advised steps.
